Man Utd too late for Mascherano

Super agent Pini Zahavi says Manchester United simply moved too late to land new West Ham signing Javier Mascherano last week.
Zahavi, who masterminded Mascherano and ex-Corinthians teammate Carlos Tevez's move to Upton Park, told the Telegraph three months ago Manchester United showed some interest in Mascherano (though not Tevez), but nothing materialised.
Their interest revived a couple of days before the West Ham deal was done but by then, Zahavi says, it was too late. Mascherano did not want to go to Old Trafford.
