Tevez same class as Rooney

West Ham boss Alan Pardew rates new signing Carlos Tevez in the Wayne Rooney class.
Hammers boss Pardew did cartwheels after signing Tevez and his Argentina World Cup team-mate Javier Mascherano on four-year deals.

Pards said: "I believe we have a player in Tevez who is going to threaten defences the way Wayne Rooney does.
"Of the two, he is the one who is a bit special and, hopefully, will take us to another level - like Rooney does when he plays for Man United. Yes, he is that type of talent."
Tevez, 22, admits Rooney's reputation is global. He said: "Rooney is an exceptional player, a phenomenon. If you mention the name Wayne Rooney to any player they would tell you the same."
Like Rooney, Tevez is regarded as a livewire striker with a short fuse, but Pardew will do nothing to dampen his explosive nature.
He said: "Because they are so special and have that talent, they are intimidated more and singled out from an early age.
"Rooney at 10 was probably getting special attention from other players even back then.
"You are going to build up anger and frustration. Carlos must channel it better. Great players do that. He is an impetuous boy and is going to have to learn lessons quickly, especially in the Premiership, where he'll be a target.
"Fans at Upton Park will see someone who plays in the history and tradition of West Ham and who will get them off their seats.
"They are both 22 so perhaps one of the reasons Carlos and Javier selected us is our record with young players. Don't think they will be the finished article - maybe they won't be. We won't know until they step out in the Premier League hurly burly.
"One of the things we pride ourselves on at West Ham is scouting players and looking at their characters etc, etc.
"In this deal, that all went out of the window because the history and reputation of the two players is such you just don't turn them down."
