New West Ham signing Javier Mascherano has revealed Juan Veron turned him off Manchester United.
He said: "Veron told me (Sir Alex) Ferguson does not have much belief in Argentinian players. I know Gabriel Heinze is there but Veron has some different stories.
"To sign for West Ham is not a negative part of my career."
