Pirlo waiting for AC Milan

Video Safari

Andrea Pirlo is waiting for new contract talks to open with AC Milan.

The World Cup winner has less than two years on his present deal and wants a pay-hike to lift him amongst the top earners at the club.
Milan directors have so far dragged their feet over opening negotiations, but know they must tie down Pirlo sometime this season or risk losing him for nothing next year.
Pirlo can buy out the final year of his contract next season for £3.5 million thanks to the FIFA ruling allowing such cases for players of 28 years of age and who have spent five years or more at the same club.
Teammate Alessandro Nesta is in the same situation, though has expressed publicly he'd fancy finishing his career at the San Siro.
