Mancini praise Inter after win

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini hailed his players after last night's stunning 4-3 Super Cup victory over Roma.
Inter fought back from 3-0 down to beat Roma 4-3 in extra time thanks to Luis Figo's sublime free-kick winner.

"We really wanted to win, as it's the first piece of silverware of the season," Mancini said after an extraordinary Italian Super Cup match.
Trailing 3-0 just before the break, the Nerazzurri fought back to win 4-3 in extra time and retain the Italian version of the Charity Shield.
"We had an appalling start and were stunned by Roma, who beat us for pace and with some quick passing. They were brilliant in the opening 40 minutes and we made some mistakes because they put us under pressure."
This could be a psychological advantage for the rest of the campaign, as Roma and Inter are expected to lead the title battle following the Calciopoli penalties.
"These are two strong teams, but there are other Scudetto contenders. It's not such a clear-cut situation," insisted Mancio.
Mancini has been the most successful Coach in Inter's recent history, lifting the Coppa Italia twice, the Italian Super Cup for two years running and was handed the 2005-06 Scudetto following the Calciopoli scandal.
"We wish to give a special message to Giacinto Facchetti, as he wasn't able to be here today and will be happy to see us lift the trophy. The important thing was to start well and now we have two weeks to prepare before the Serie A season begins. It's going to be a tough campaign."
