Beckham out for six weeks

David Beckham could miss England's first game under Steve McClaren after hurting his Achilles tendon in the defeat to Portugal.
The midfielder, who stood down as Three Lions captain on Sunday, was forced off during the second half of the quarter final loss in Gelsenkirchen.
Beckham tried to continue in spite of the injury, but conceded defeat and was replaced by Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon.
Scans have now shown that the 31-year-old has suffered a tear to his Achilles and a small 'lesion' in his knee.
"I twisted my knee in the first half and then I went up for a header in the first five minutes of the second half and the player landed on my Achilles," said Beckham.
It is expected that Beckham will be sidelined for six weeks, meaning he is doubtful for England's friendly with Greece on August 16.
He will also be battling to be fit for the start of the new Spanish domestic season, as he looks to put his World Cup disappointment behind him.
Real Madrid doctors will conduct a second scan on Beckham's injuries to monitor his progress.
