Simao to become Valencia's biggest ever earner
Valencia sports director Amadeo Carboni expects to parade Simao Sabrosa to the local media some time this week.
Carboni has all but struck personal terms with the Benfica captain and after meeting with coach Quique Flores yesterday at a training session, told reporters: "Either today or Monday we will again talk. I believe this week we could have something."
The transfer fee has been agreed for some days, with Valencia committing £10 million to the deal. However, talks have laboured over personal terms with Simao's agents.
Valencia's latest offer is to lengthen their contract offer from four to six years at £1.2 million-a-season. The deal will essentially represent the biggest contract for a player in Valencia's history.
