Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry says the club would like Steven Gerrard to stay at Anfield for life.

The England midfielder released emotional extracts from his autobiography in the News of the World on Sunday and insisted that he would like to manage the Reds after his career on the pitch comes to an end.
Parry said: "It's not a decision we have to make today (managing). I think the fact the motivation and commitment is there is the main message.
"We've made the point that we would like Steven to be with us forever. He's been with us since he was the tender age of nine and we know that his love for the club is pretty deep.
"So the fact that he is saying he wants to be with us long term is the sort of news all of our supporters want to hear."
