Monday deadline for Sampdoria striker Vieri

Sampdoria want an answer from Christian Vieri by Monday over whether he intends to play this season.
Vieri has not spoken with either president Riccardo Garrone, nor director general Beppe Marotta, over his intentions after asking to be allowed time to ponder his future in the game.
"We are waiting for him," said Garrone yesterday. "I know time is passing at this moment and we wait for him, but if he cannot answer us within ten days we would be forced to cut him from the squad."
Despite Garrone's words, it's reported the deadline is closer to Monday for Vieri, who has kept in some contact, via sms, with Samp striker Francesco Flachi.
