Stam warns: Don't mess with Fergie
Jaap Stam has warned Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney they can't take anything for granted at Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United.
The Dutch defender was booted out of Old Trafford four years ago for crossing Ferguson.
And Stam, 34, reckons Wayne Rooney and winker Cristiano Ronaldo should NOT consider themselves safe.
Stam, who plays for Ajax against United on Saturday, said: "I'd played three good seasons. Then they go behind my back and act like that because they can get a lot of money for me."
Stam fell foul of Fergie when he claimed in his book Head to Head the manager had spoken to him about joining United while he was still at PSV - in effect publicly admitting an illegal approach.
Ferguson, who was accused of doing something similar when Ruud van Nistelrooy was at PSV, denied the allegations . . . and sold Stam.
The Dutchman said: "The one thing I learned is you are never sure of your place at United. We won the Champions League and the World Club Championship while I was there.
"So I wasn't happy with the manner and way they conducted themselves. They showed a total lack of normal decency and respect so I had to leave. In retrospect, I heard that they had seemingly done a deal long before that."
