Eidur earns Ronnie's praise
Ronaldinho has praised Eidur Gudjohnsen after the pair have linked up well in Barcelona's pre-season tour of Mexico and United States and says that there is plenty more to come.
The Brazilian has been used sparingly by coach Frank Rijkaard after reporting back for training following his appearance at the World Cup.
Already though, Ronaldinho and Gudjohnsen have shown that they can work well together up front as they linked up to create the Icelandic forward's first two goals for the club.
"We scarcely know each other, but he is a player that always chooses the best position and is very intelligent," said Ronaldinho. "I have a feeling that we are going to have great fun together this season."
Against Club Tigres in Monterrey, Gudjohnsen was picked out by the Fifa World Player of the Year down the left of the area and he drove home Barca's third goal in a 3-0 victory.
The new partnership linked up again in the 1-1 draw with Chivas de Guadalajara in Los Angeles on Sunday with Gudjohnsen latching onto a pass before scoring at the second attempt after his first shot came back off the post.
"He is the type of player that makes the whole team play better," the former Chelsea forward said. "If I make good runs, I know that the ball will always arrive at my feet."
