Benfica were held to a 1-1 first leg draw at Austria Vienna in their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie.
The Portuguese giants are aiming to return to Europe's top club competition this season and the Lisbon club got off to a superb start when Nuno Gomes back-heeled home Paulo Jorge's cross from the right for 1-0.
Austria Vienna levelled on 36 minutes when Jocelyn Blanchard converted a set-piece move with a close-range strike.
Despite the draw, Benfica will feel confident of reaching the group stages when they host their Austrian opponents for the second leg at Estadio da Luz on August 22.
