Cole fume at Arsenal

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein rejected a mega £21 million bid from Chelsea for Ashley Cole, it has been revealed.

The Mirror says chief executive Peter Kenyon made the take-it-or-leave-it bid during a telephone conversation with Dein, who insisted on holding out for £25m.
Cole, 25, who last night reported for international duty, has been given permission by the FA to leave England's Manchester headquarters and dash back to London if Chelsea make a last-gasp attempt to sign him.
But Cole and his advisers have privately given up on the deal happening - and are furious with Dein for snubbing Chelsea's offer of £21m, although the Blues' formal written bid of £16.5m is still on the table.
