Inter Milan have made the first move in the chase for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres.

The Italian giants have offered £24 million for the Spain international, which has been turned down by Atletico this week.
The offer is in the region that Atletico are seeking for Torres, but for now the Madrid giants want to wait for rivals to make their moves in the hope of sparking an auction.
Manchester United will offer £25 million for Torres once Ruud van Nistelrooy's £12 million switch to Real Madrid is rubberstamped.
Meanwhile, Atletico director Miguel Angel Gil Marin insists they do not want to sell El Nino: "I can't understand why the media keep pushing for the sale of Torres.
"I don't know whether it's because they don't like the player being part of Atletico, or whether they think we're not big enough for him.
"The club wants to grow and win trophies with Torres. And he would be delighted to win titles with is hometown club."
