Middlesbrough have offered a massive £7 million for Manchester City defender Sylvain Distin and midfielder Joey Barton.

The Mirror says Boro boss Gareth Southgate tabled his new and improved offer after City rejected a swap deal involving Franck Queudrue.
Boro rate both players at £3.5m and they hope City's money men will opt to sell at least one of their contract rebels.
Distin, also wanted by Portsmouth, has been offered £35,000-a-week by City who fear he will play out the last year of his deal and leave for nothing.
Barton's case is different as City have finally met his demands for £30,000-aweek.
However Boro's offer may now tempt City chairman John Wardle to sell the controversial midfielder.
