And he has again angered the Bernabeu hierarchy by having a recent knee op in Brazil instead of Spain.
Real are waiting to discover if Ronaldo will pledge his loyalty to new boss Fabio Capello.
However with Capello swooping for Ruud van Nistelrooy it could consign the Brazilian to the bench next season.
