Ferguson sends Man Utd No2 Queiroz to Ronaldo meeting

Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz is on his way to Portugal for crunch talks with unhappy winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson once talked Eric Cantona into making a U-turn after the Frenchman walked out and the Daily Mail says he believes his Portuguese assistant can work the same magic with Ronaldo.
Queiroz is so close to the winger that United players jokingly refer to him as Ronaldo's Dad, and Ferguson is banking on their relationship to heal the rift caused by the fallout over Wayne Rooney's red card in England's World Cup quarter-final defeat to Portugal.
