Chelsea stars back expected £25M Cole arrival
Chelsea aim to strike a £25 million deal with Arsenal for fullback Ashley Cole this week.
Blues manager Jose Mourinho has told his players the Arsenal left-back is the missing piece in their quest for Champions League glory.
And Chelsea reckon a £25m offer will persuade the Gunners to sell. But Blues must sign Cole, 25, by Thursday to register him in time for the Champions League group stages.
Chelsea midfield man Joe Cole cannot wait for his England team-mate to join him on the left flank at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "I already know what it's like playing with Ashley behind you and he makes it very easy.
"He's a great player. If he was to come here, we would have two of the best left-backs in the country in him and Wayne Bridge."
Chelsea skipper John Terry also reckons Cole will add another dimension to the team.
The England centre-half said: "Ashley is a fantastic player. He's defensively solid and quick. Ash is also great one-on-one, going forward and crossing.
"Everything about him is first class - but don't forget we've still got Bridgey here as well.
"Bridgey had a good six months at Fulham. He is looking very sharp."
