Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick will have his Manchester United medical today ahead of completing a £14.5 million move to Old Trafford.

The England midfielder, 25, has already agreed personal terms on a transfer from Tottenham. Boss Sir Alex Ferguson will hand Carrick his United debut in Friday's friendly against Porto in Amsterdam.
Spurs coach Martin Jol blasted: "You get used to these things. There are always little circumstances and, in this case, one big circumstance which makes players go to other clubs.
"He was very happy here but players have their own reasons for going and he made his mind up he wanted to go to United.
"Once that happens it's always better if you only have people who desperately want to play for you."
