Fabio Capello has promised Real Madrid fans that the new signings he makes will recapture "the spirit of the Real Madrid shirt".

The new Real coach refused to discuss his transfer targets, but did say yesterday: "We are working to make a great group and to win titles. I am convinced that we are going to succeed.
"The signings will be players of great quality and who will recover the spirit of this shirt, we need fighters.
"We have had problems in defence. In attack, Madrid always has had great quality and has scored goals, but it is necessary to have more balance in all the lines. I hope that the players, when they train, put their hearts into the shirt."
Capello insisted he saw a future at Real for club captain Raul.
"I'm a big fan of Raul. He is 29 years old and I am going to make a comparison with Maldini. He began like him, at 17 years of age, now he's 38 and in the last season he did very well. Raul will be important for me."
Capello also confirmed that ex-Roma director general Franco Baldini is joining Real Madrid.
"He is a collaborator who knows a lot about football. I worked with him at Roma, he has best contacts in the world and is an important man."
