Rossi tells Rooney: You're not good enough

Wayne Rooney has been told by Italian strike legend Paolo Rossi that he has a long way to go before he becomes a great player.

Italy's 1982 World Cup hero expected big things from Rooney and England in Germany this summer but was left hugely unimpressed.
"Rooney has yet to prove he is a great player," Rossi said. "We are used to making judgements early on regarding certain players. A great player is Zinedine Zidane, who has had a fantastic career.
"Rooney is young and has shown good things but he is still not a great player.
"Rooney has had some excellent games for England and Manchester United but made no impact on the World Cup.
"He lacks maturity but has plenty of time to improve," said Rossi.
"A great player shows his worth in major tournaments."
