Mancini convinces Inter Milan's Materazzi to stay

Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi has rejected an offer from Villarreal.
Materazzi informed Villarreal football advisor Jose Manuel Llaneza yesterday that he would be staying with Inter. The Italy international was offered a three-year contract by Villarreal worth ?4 million.
One of the keys to Materazzi's decision was a phone call he received from Inter coach Roberto Mancini earlier this week. The pair didn't always see eye-to-eye last season and Materazzi appreciated Mancini's gesture.
