Deportivo release Tristan and Scaloni
Deportivo La Coruna have released Lionel Scaloni and Diego Tristan from their contracts.
The club's coach Joaquin Caparros had made it clear that both players would not feature for Deportivo this season and made the decision to release them from their contracts when no buyers were found before the 2006 transfer deadline on Thursday.
Tristan, who has 15 caps for his country, and Scaloni - who was part of the 23-man Argentina squad in this summer's World Cup - are now free to sign for other clubs.
Scaloni, 28, joined Deportivo in 1998 and was on-loan at West Ham for much of last season while Tristan has spent more than five years at the club after joining from Primera Liga rivals Mallorca in 2000.
