Beckenbauer admits Munich miss Ballack
After months of criticising Michael Ballack in public, Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer admits they're missing the Chelsea star this season.
"From the start, I must say that we miss Michael," said Beckenbauer when asked about Bayern's sluggish start to the season. "It was he who guided our play and everything developed around him.
"He gave us rhythm and in these first weeks we have lacked his influence."
Asked about new signing Mark van Bommel, Beckenbauer added: "The choice of Mark is completely justified, but he is not Ballack."
