Capello vow to proved improved Real
Mahamadou Diarra's first-half header was enough for Real Madrid to beat Real Betis in Seville last night.
The win lifts Madrid to the top of the standings ahead of Sunday's clashes, while defeat ends a miserable week for Betis which began with a derby loss to Sevilla.
Real coach Fabio Capello said afterwards: "You can see that the team is improving and is playing with more rhythm. We played a good game, though they came back at us hard with the introduction of the German (David Odonkor).
"Betis had only one chance throughout the game, the header for Juanito. We had several more chances and controlled the game well."
Fullback Cicinho limped off with suspected knee ligament damage, though Capello said: "We'll wait to see what the doctors say."
