Tavano agent reveals Newcastle, Barca interest

The agent of Empoli star Francesco Tavano has revealed Newcastle United and Barcelona are interested in the prolific striker.
Stefano Guercini told Tuttomercatoweb: "I can confirm this, even if the two teams have yet to make direct contact with me.
"With Newcastle, he is on their agenda and a meeting with Empoli can happen in a week, but it's too early to talk about negotiations.
"Barcelona, upon request from Frank Rijkaard, is watching him. The Dutch coach wants to consider above all if the player could fit into the tactical outlines of his team.
"Until now, the only direct contact has been with Valencia, that has introduced to Empoli an offer, but fell well short of what they want."
