Tottenham's Carrick hopes for Man Utd move

Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick is anxious about a potential move to Manchester United.

Carrick is stalling on a bumper new £45,000-a-week deal to stay at Spurs.
The England midfielder wants to wait and see if Manchester United come back with a new bid. Spurs KO'd United's £14million offer and want to open talks to secure Carrick's long-term future.
Carrick - who is 25 on Friday - has two years left on the £25,000-a-week deal he signed after his £2.75m move from West Ham in August 2004.
But Spurs boss Martin Jol has recommended a £1m-a-year pay rise to put his rising star on the same terms as skipper Ledley King.
Carrick is still eager to try his luck at United but fears Spurs' £20m valuation has put them off.
