Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy facing friendly humiliation

A Manchester United friendly against non-league Hyde United tomorrow could decide the future of Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Sir Alex Ferguson plans to field a virtual reserve team and it would be a humbling experience for Van Nistelrooy, 30, to go from World Cup duty to a kickabout in front of a couple of hundred spectators.
But it was the same story a year ago when club skipper Roy Keane amazingly turned out in a similar friendly against Rossendale.
Keane had been involved in a training ground bust-up with Ferguson in Portugal and missed the club's pre-season tour to Asia, before turning out against the Unibond division one side.
It was not long before Keane was on his way to join Celtic on a free transfer.
