Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has backed Cristiano Ronaldo if he seeks to negotiate a way out of Manchester United.
Scolari admits he understands why Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford and it would be "hypocritical" to try to get in his way because of the World Cup.
Ronaldo, 21, has admitted he wants to join Real Madrid and Scolari said: "They have my authorisation to concentrate on their life.
"We cannot be hypocrites, saying they should only think of the team.
"They can listen to their agent about any transfer. I don't like to interfere."
