Manchester United wing ace Cristiano Ronaldo wants to end Liverpool's title challenge on Sunday.
Ronaldo said: "We can put an even bigger gap between us and Liverpool in the title race. Liverpool is such a massive game for us. It is always a fantastic game for both the players and the supporters. In a game between such big rivals you never really know what the outcome is going to be.
"But we all know that Sunday's game is extra special this time, not just because of the rivalry between the clubs."
Liverpool are already eight points behind United after just eight league games.
Ronaldo said: "We see them as genuine title contenders but they have already dropped quite a few points. I know Liverpool are always a hard team to play against but we are playing at home and we have 70,000 supporters behind us, so everything is there for us to win."
United's superb form continued with a 3-0 Champions League thumping of FC Copenhagen on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo added: "We are playing fantastically well at the moment and all the players are full of confidence.
"So I think we can definitely take the three points off Liverpool."
