Pardew threatened to quit Hammers

West Ham United are expected to announce today that plans for a £70 million takeover have been dropped.

The Mirror says the Hammers have decided to drop talks after manager Alan Pardew threatened to walk out.
Pardew had to be talked out of going after two days of inquests in the wake of Sunday's home defeat by his former club Reading, which left the Hammers out of the relegation zone only on goal difference.
And the decision will almost certainly mean Argentinian duo Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano leaving Upton Park in January, just four months after being hailed as the signings who would help transform the image and success of the club.
Pardew told the board that he was sick of the interference from the prospective new owners, whose signings of Tevez and Mascherano had destabilised the team spirit he had fostered over the previous three years.
One insider said: "The board wasn't left with very much option. It either let Alan walk out, or did the right thing for the club."
