Sutton have nothing to prove
New Aston Villa signing Chris Sutton insists he has nothing to prove.
The striker has joined Aston Villa for the rest of the season - just five months after a disastrous spell at Birmingham City.
But Sutton, 33, believes he can win over Villa fans.
He said: "I do not feel I have a point to prove and I just want to do well.
"First and foremost I want to get fully fit and into contention.
"The aim is to be pushing for a starting place as soon as possible."
Sutton links up again with former Celtic boss Martin O'Neill, who has been chasing the veteran forward for several weeks.
O'Neill stepped up his interest on Monday after news that Luke Moore was set to miss the campaign with a dislocated shoulder.
O'Neill said: "It's my own view that Chris did not do himself justice at Birmingham last season because of injury.
"It was a problem that forced him to seriously think about his playing future. But he's worked to improve his fitness and he came through a vigorous medical unscathed.
"A fit Chris Sutton is definitely a positive addition to the squad."
