Allardyce hire star Clifford

Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has called on the services of agent to the stars Max Clifford.
Allardyce has been in the papers more than most celebrities in the last couple of weeks due to the fall-out from Panorama's programme into soccer corruption.

Allardyce, who was once touted as a possible successor to England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, has received the backing of his players, chairman and the vast majority of the supporters.
But clearly the Bolton boss feels he needs extra help dealing with the aftermath of the
TV investigation and has called in Clifford, who is a past master at getting positive "spin" from the media.
Clifford revealed to the Manchester Evening News: "I'm going to be helping Sam for the next couple of weeks or the next couple of months; whatever we think is best.
"Sam is away on holiday at the moment. But when he comes back we will be having lengthy discussions about the best way to go. Obviously, I'm not employed to help on the legal matter. That's for his solicitors.
"But when you're in the public spotlight there is always two sides to every story. I know a lot of people have come out to support Sam, particularly in Bolton, and he wants to build on that. He's prepared to stand up and be counted.
"A lot of people have said to him why don't you speak out and he feels duty bound to tell people what he's all about.
"I don't think though it's a case of me helping improve his image. He is one of the most popular managers in the country."
