Prospective new Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to hand manager Martin O'Neill a massive £50 million transfer jackpot.

O'Neill already has a long shopping list drawn up, which includes Stilian Petrov (Celtic), William Gallas (Aston Villa), Dirk Kuyt (Feyenoord), Obefami Martins (Inter Milan) and Mahamadou Diarra (Lyon).
NFL tycoon Lerner, 44, finally made his interest in Villa official yesterday after weeks of talks.
Major shareholders Doug Ellis and Jack Petchey agreed to sell their holding and they have recommended the takeover to the other shareholders. If they accept quickly, Lerner could be in charge before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Lerner said: "The basis for acquiring Aston Villa is it is a club dating from the 1870s with periods of treasured memories and glory, Currently it faces the need for reinvestment in a variety of areas which many of its competitors have under way or have completed in recent years.
"The opportunity to be a part of strengthening Villa's business operations and facilities represents a broad set of challenges that I am eager to take on."
The rival consortia of AV06 and Mike Neville both claim they will mount counter-bids. But they will have to be five per cent MORE than the one on the table.
They have 10 days, while shareholders have 21 days to consider Lerner's £5.47 a share offer.
