Spurs improved bid for Baptista

Tottenham have made an improved bid for Real Madrid utility Julio Baptista.
Spurs have made an increased bid of £13.5 million for Real Madrid's Baptista, 24. Boss Martin Jol's offer matches the fee Real paid Seville for the Brazilian last summer and is likely to be accepted.
If Jol succeeds it will be a massive victory over arch-rivals Arsenal. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger went all out to sign the Samba ace last summer before he opted for Real.
Jol wants to pair Baptista with his midfield pitbull Edgar Davids.
