Real Madrid chief Mijatovic goes for Lyon's Diarra

Real Madrid are accelerating negotiations with Olympique Lyon for midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.
Real insiders have told AS that in a meeting on Tuesday, coach Fabio Capello told sports director Predrag Mijatovic to cool their interest in AC Milan's Kaka and focus all energy on bringing Diarra to Madrid.
The Mali international is desperate to join Real, while Lyon's £17 million asking price is regarded as reasonable by Madrid president Ramon Calderon.
Mijatovic held talks with Diarra's representatives before Calderon's election victory last month and on request from Capello negotiations will be revived this weekend to bring the African ace to Real.
