Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has told Shaun Wright-Phillips he can still be a success at Chelsea.
Having missed out on World Cup selection through lack of matches, Wright-Phillips' misery is now heading into a second season, although Pearce cautions against writing off the winger's Chelsea career too quickly.
"All of us have to make decisions in life; some work out, some don't," said the City chief.
"Knowing Shaun as I do, I would sit tight a little bit before suggesting this one has not worked out for him.
"He could still be a success at Chelsea and he could still play a lot of matches for them."
