New Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is putting together a massive £100 million sponsorship deal to help manager Martin O'Neill compete at the top-end of the transfer market.
Lerner has already been using the contacts built up as owner of NFL team Cleveland Browns to begin raising Villa's profile worldwide.
The Sunday Mercury says Lerner's backers are being kept under wraps but he is believed to be talking to major companies already and it is hoped that a deal could be done by Christmas - just before the January transfer window opens.
