Footballer Steven Gerrard's fiancee has been questioned by police over an alleged assault.
Alex Curran, 23, was arrested following an incident at a restaurant in Liverpool city centre and later released on bail.
It comes the day after her fiance - who is captain of Liverpool - lost out to Chelsea's John Terry as the new England skipper.
The mother-of-two was reportedly involved in a fight at the Shangri-La restaurant in the early hours of the morning.
It is understood she had been enjoying a night out with Gerrard and two friends, but the footballer had left the restaurant at the time of the alleged fracas.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We have arrested a 23-year-old woman, from Formby, on suspicion of assault.
Couple to marry next summer
"The arrest follows an incident at the Shangri-La restaurant on Victoria Street during the early hours of this morning. The woman is being questioned at a police station on Merseyside."
Sources said a brawl broke out between a group of men and women at around 2.50am. It was reported that an 18-year-old girl suffered an injury to her eye.
A friend of the injured girl, who refused to be named, told the Liverpool Echo: "It was horrible. We were just having a meal after a night out and there was a fight in the restaurant.
"My mate stood up and started screaming for them to stop fighting and one of the blokes came over to her and was really abusive.
A couple of seconds later someone came over and shoved a bottle in her face."
Gerrard and Curran, who have two daughters, have been engaged since 2004 and plan to marry next summer.
