Arsenal tell moneybags Chelsea: £25M for Cole

Arsenal have slapped a £25 million price-tag on Chelsea target Ashley Cole.

The Times says the Gunners have rejected a £16 million offer from Chelsea for the England fullback.
After months of speculation over Cole's future, the clubs have finally entered into negotiations, with Arsenal turning down the opening offer but indicating that they would do business if the fee reached £25 million. Chelsea are confident of getting their man, with Arsenal's stance most likely to infuriate the player.
Cole is said to have had a verbal agreement with the Gunners that he could go for £15 million this summer before signing a contract extension 12 months ago. However, there is no formal escape clause in his deal.
