Birmingham accept Liverpool bid for Pennant

Liverpool have had a £6 million offer for Jermaine Pennant accepted by Birmingham City.
The Mirror says Liverpool had an initial bid of £3m turned down by City manager Steve Bruce, but last night Benitez went back with double that amount and Birmingham - relegated from the Premiership last season - had little option but to reluctantly accept.
Pennant is expected to complete contract talks with Liverpool today and, if he passes a medical, the deal should go through in time for him to join his new team-mates when they fly out this week for a pre-season training camp in Austria.
