AC Milan, Inter take different routes in Maxi chase

AC Milan and Inter are going head-to-head for Atletico Madrid attacker Maxi Rodriguez.
Both Milan clubs are ready to bring the Argentina international to Italy after his superb performances in the World Cup.
Maxi is understood to be keen on a move to Serie A and his representatives have already been sounded out by Inter sports chief Marco Branca, who is also relying on Esteban Cambiasso to convince his Argie teammate about the deal.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is taking a different tact and using his good relationship with Atletico directors to discuss an agreement for the winger.
Complicating matters for Inter is Maxi's non-EU status. Should they strike a deal, incoming Brazilian wing-back Maicon, from Monaco, will have to be offloaded elsewhere on-loan.
