Fast track to management

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer could be fast-tracked into Premiership management by the end of this season.
The Mirror says Premier League chairmen will meet to pass a new law allowing ex-players "of exceptional calibre", like Shearer and Middlesbrough's Gareth Southgate, to become a boss if they have simply enrolled on a Pro-licence course.
Shearer, who met Prince Charles at St James' Park yesterday as part of a royal tour of the north-east, could return to the game as a top-flight boss in June if he wanted.
