Mr Big battle for Hammers
![]() |

Two consortiums are battling for control of West Ham United to the tune of £100 million.
The Mirror says London-based Iranian Kia Joorabchian has now found a massive backer who will foot the whole bill in a shock development.
The mystery money man is willing to come up with the cash but the sheer size of his funds mean he would have total say in the takeover. That has its drawbacks for Joorabchian who wanted to co-ordinate a group of five or six.
There is rival interest from other investors, involving well-known football financier Keith Harris, and they have suggested they will come up with an £85m bid.
Hammers chairman Terry Brown is willing to sell at the right price and a £100m deal now looks likely, with the buyer identifying himself shortly and the deal to go through before the end of the year.
