McClaren won't rule out Rooney axe
England boss Steve McClaren won't rule out axing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney for this week's Euro qualifier in Croatia.
Macca said: "I'm not going to say who is going to play - I have a lot to think about.
"Wayne needs to work through it and he'll start working through it on Mon-day. Croatia are a good team and we need a reaction. We've got to insist on one."
Roo failed to live up to McClaren's pre-match prediction that the off-form Manchester United star would "explode" against Macedonia.
Macca added: "We have to move on, learn the lessons, give feedback to the players - all of it, good or bad. And a lot will be bad.
"We got a point, we had the chances to win.
"But the performance wasn't good enough and we have to be better against Croatia."
