O'Neill don't expect Lerner to be crazy
Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill doesn't expect new club owner Randy Lerner to throw money about like Roman Abramovich, but admits January transfer plans are on the agenda ahead of a meeting this week.
O'Neill admitted: "I do not think for one minute Mr Lerner is going to come and throw money at the club, like Chelsea. That is not in his nature, to be honest.
"But that doesn't mean there aren't some things we can put in place now and reap the benefits and rewards of those things later on.
"We would want to try and get stronger as a team, and things like the January transfer window will be on the agenda. Just getting some plans up and running will be the most important issue."
