Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of Porto striker Benni McCarthy.
The South African international has penned a four-year contract at Ewood Park.
The former Ajax and Celta Vigo ace put pen-to-paper after completing his medical and the formalities of the transfer on Thursday evening.
"We tried to sign Benni 12 months ago and we have been tracking the situation since then," said Rovers chairman John Williams.
"We are delighted that we have managed to bring him to Rovers."
McCarthy is the third striker to have joined the club this summer following the arrivals of Jason Roberts and Francis Jeffers.
