Real Madrid are in talks with Chelsea over a fee for Brazilian wing-back Roberto Carlos.

The left-sided fullback has already told new Real sports chief Predrag Mijatovic his intention to accept a three-year contract offer from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, worth £4.2 million-a-season.

While the Real board are ready to sell Roberto Carlos, it's been revealed Mijatovic and new coach Fabio Capello had urged him to stay on for this season.

But the Brazilian's mind is made up, even though he still has two years left on his Real deal.
