Capello makes Cannavaro No1 Real Madrid target

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has made Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro a priority signing.

The Italy World Cup winning captain also has Chelsea chasing his signature and Capello admitted yesterday: "If you look at the problems Madrid have had in the recent past, it's always involved the defence.
"We are going to sign men, players who do not feel intimidated by the shirt. That is important.
"Cannavaro is very serious and one who behaves like a leader. His age (31 years) is not a problem because he has taken care of himself. He is not very tall (1,76), but has an impressive jump and great positioning. I am convinced that he should have been named the best player of the World Cup in Germany."
Capello also confirmed he wants to bring his former Juve star Emerson to Madrid: "He is young (29 years) and if he did not have an outstanding World Cup with the Brazilian selecao it is because they are not accustomed to having a player who runs so much!"
