Cole admit United trial

Chelsea midfield whiz Joe Cole admits he had trials with Manchester United.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has always admired Cole, even to the extent of ringing the then West Ham manager Harry Redknapp to enquire about his progress.
But Cole insists he never considered moving to United as a youngster even though he had trials with the club.
"For someone like Alex Ferguson to like you as a player then you must be doing something right," said Cole.
"When I was a kid and going up there on trial and deciding where I wanted to play, I had a chance to go to a cup final, I can't remember which one now, but I had already decided to sign for West Ham.
"I could have gone to that cup final, had a great day, met all the players, got a signed shirt, but out of respect my dad told him we didn't want to lead him on.
"It would have been wonderful for me as a 13-year-old to go along but I had made my mind and didn't want to lead them on out of respect for the manager and the club."
